How padel works
Scoring
Points run 15 → 30 → 40 → game, exactly like tennis. Win 6 games (by 2) to take the set; at 6–6 a tiebreak to 7 (win by 2) decides it.
At 40–40 you can play classic Advantage, sudden-death Golden Point, or the FIP-2026 Star Point: two advantage cycles, then one deciding rally.
The serve
Underhand only: bounce the ball and strike it at or below the waist, from behind the service line, diagonally into the opposite box.
You get two attempts. Miss both and it's a double fault. If the serve clips the net but still lands in the box, it's a let — replayed, no limit.
The returner must let the serve bounce before hitting it.
The walls
Your shot must bounce on the floor first on the opponents' side. Hitting their wall on the fly loses the point.
After the bounce, walls are live — the ball can rebound off the glass and stay in play. You can also play the ball off your own back wall to send it over.
One floor bounce max per side: a double bounce ends the point. If the ball bounces and then flies out of the cage, the hitter wins the point.
In this game
All cage surfaces play as glass (real courts mix glass and mesh — mesh kills the ball; simplified here).
Drive flat, lob over their heads, and high balls turn your drive into a smash. Hit the ball in your sweet spot for a Perfect — faster and more accurate.
